Policy for Becoming a PTO Board Member
The Odyssey Charter School PTO values the dedication of parents, guardians, and staff who support our mission to enhance the educational experience for all students. For those interested in a leadership role, the following policy outlines the requirements and expectations for becoming a PTO Board member.
Board Membership Requirements
To be eligible to apply for a PTO Board position, individuals must:
- Complete a full school year of consistent volunteering at PTO-sponsored events.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting PTO initiatives and engaging with the school community.
- Submit a formal application during the designated application period for the following school year.
Please note that meeting these requirements does not guarantee a position on the PTO Board. Board positions are limited, and selections are made based on volunteer history, experience, and alignment with the PTO’s goals and needs.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Volunteer opportunities are announced through SignUpGenius links, email communications, and the PTO website.
- Consistent volunteering provides valuable experience and insight into PTO operations and builds connections within the school community.
Benefits of Participation
Active involvement with the PTO offers the opportunity to:
• Collaborate with other members of the school community.
• Influence decisions that directly benefit students and the school.
• Contribute to the success of PTO events and initiatives.
For questions about volunteering or applying for a board position, please contact us at Odysseycharterschooltpo@gmail.com.
This policy is subject to change based on the needs and priorities of the PTO. Openings are not available each year. Opening will be announced at the PTO meeting.
